A new arrival at Cloughton Station in 2004 "OSCAR", a MK1 railway carriage built in Derby in 1962, which has been refurbished to a very high standard. |
The carriage is fully heated and air-conditioned and has one double en-suite bedroom, one twin-bedded room, and one bunk room. Additional folding beds are available if required. |

The lounge/dining area is nineteen feet long and has the provision of TV/VCR/DVD/CD system. There is a separate kitchen with storage cupboards, electric cooker, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Drying and ironing facilities are available. Tea towels, hand towels, cleaning materials and store cupboard basics are provided. Separate shower room and toilet with shaver point. All bed linen, towels and electricity are included. 'OSCAR' is situated alongside the old platform, a short distance from the Station House, and is completely private and not over-looked. There is a garden table and chairs for outdoor dining, and a barbecue is available. There is ample parking, and motor cycles/bicycles can be locked overnight in our fully alarmed garage. |
The village of Cloughton is five miles north of Scarborough, along the A171 towards Whitby; Station Lane being the first road on your right as you enter Cloughton coming north. There is a bus service 200 yards away serving Scarborough, Whitby, Ravenscar and Middlesbrough. The village has a post office/newsagents/shop and two pubs and one along the old railway track on the Whitby road which all serve food. Laundry facilities are available for a small charge if required. The Station House Tea Room is open from 10.30am until 5.00pm Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday all year round where we will be happy to serve you with home made food. |

Please telephone 01723 870896 for availability of bookings and brochures. Bookings are from Friday-Friday, Easter to October, Christmas and New Year at £550 per week. 3 and 4 day breaks can be arranged from November to Easter (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) or (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Deposit of 50% is required at the time of booking and the balance is due 28 days prior to arrival. Pets are not allowed in the carriage but we can arrange kennelling close-by. |
